Description

The ASG Division of Jergens, Inc. is currently seeking top level qualified applicants for the position of Division Sales Manager.  This position has global sales management responsibility with direct reports, including Regional Sales Managers and Country Managers in multiple countries.  This position will be based in the Jergens, Inc. headquarters in Cleveland, OH and will require the ability to accommodate regular and extensive travel, both domestically and internationally. 

Applicants must have extensive experience and proven solution-based selling skills into both industrial distribution and manufacturing facilities. Candidates also must be extremely knowledgeable in the torque control and precision fastening markets, along with specific knowledge of current industry trends such as Industry 4.0 and automated assembly, with an emphasis on threaded fastening.

The Division Sales Manager leads the global sales team in developing and implementing an overall sales strategy that yields a sustainable competitive advantage that translates into continued growth and profitability consistent with the company’s strategic plan. Provides strategic leadership in establishing the company’s sales policies and procedures and setting the future direction of the sales function. Coordinates the efforts of the global sales team to effectively serve our customers.  Hires, trains, directs, motivates, evaluates and rewards the sales team to meet the company’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Has a thorough understanding of our company’s products, services and capabilities to serve our customers. Provides strategic leadership in developing and implementing an overall sales strategy, policies and procedures that yield a sustainable competitive advantage that translates into continued growth and profitability consistent with the company’s annual and longer term strategic plan.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with customers while gaining an understanding of their businesses, organization, and needs. Plays a lead role in developing and maintaining relationships with major customers and new target accounts.
• Develops effective relationships with the leadership within the organization to be able to provide effective service to our customers and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Leads the sales team to meet or exceed established sales objectives.
• Leads the effective implementation of new programs and products .
• Conducts market research, monitors competitor products and activities, and maintains an awareness of any sales or customer issues needing personal involvement to resolve .
• Formulates strategic planning and budget creation.
• Develops and sets appropriate objectives/goals for staff.
• Successfully develops and implements effective overall sales policy, procedures, and strategy and setting the future direction of the sales function.
• Maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree is required.  An MBA and appropriate professional certifications are preferred. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position.
• A minimum of seven years of related industry sales experience.
• Has a strong customer orientation and is able to effectively communicate, build relationships, present ideas, and lead people to meet customer needs and achieve sales objectives.
• Achieves annual strategic and budget goals.
• Has excellent communications and interpersonal skills .
• Able to understand and utilize financial statements as a management tool.
• Has developed and implemented an effective sales strategic plan.
• Has demonstrated success in developing new target accounts.
• Has demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding established sales objectives.
• Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs.
• Has strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
• Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
• High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs.
• High level of personal and professional integrity.
• Is committed to the company’s values.
• Attention to detail in maintaining required records and reports.
